roe deer
The roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) is a forest animal like the deer, although its size is much smaller. Getting all muddled up in the woods, can be found traces of their passage: beds, droppings, footprints, broken branches, etc.. Every year, on two occasions, the bucks rub their branches in the trees (only the males have shanks).
The first takes place in March / April because, by then, begins to grow them a sort of velvet on the stems, they try to eliminate. The second is in July / August and corresponds to the time of estrus and territoriality of males.
